Off field, the club's exciting, innovative, and fresh brand is growing as it engages with members, fans, the community and key stakeholders across Western Sydney, Canberra and Nationally.

The GIANTS' AFL and AFL Women's teams are based at the club's elite training and administration facility in Sydney Olympic Park, with GIANTS Netball based adjacent at Netball Central.

Description:

Position Purpose

Massage Therapist work on training days to provide sports massage services that support athlete treatment and recovery, enhancing physical wellbeing, reducing injury risk and boosting performance.

Casual Massage Therapist - AFL Overview

Reports to:

  • Head Trainer - AFL

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Delivering sports massage therapy to players to aid physical recovery.
  • Coordinating with the medical and high-performance teams to align with player treatment protocols.
  • Ensuring proper equipment setup for massage sessions.
  • Assisting in maintaining athlete wellbeing through therapeutic interventions.
  • Employees may be rostered for massage therapy shifts exclusively or combined with trainer shifts as needed.

Skills and Experiences:

Skills and Knowledge

  • Adequate experience in a professional sporting environment.
  • Ability to follow clear verbal and written instructions.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of AFL/W trainers' guidelines.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with football department members.
  • Understanding of the AFL/W is ideal, but not essential.
  • Sports massage qualifications and insurance required.
