About the role

Bannister Downs Dairy is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our dynamic team in Northcliffe, in the South West of WA. As the Operations Manager, you will play a vital role in overseeing the efficient and effective operations of our state-of-the-art dairy production facility. This full-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of the company and drive continuous improvement across all areas of our operations.

What you'll be doing

  1. Planning monthly, weekly and daily production as well as implementing operational strategies to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness;
  2. Coordination of stock for distribution between Main Site, South West depot and Bibra Lake Distribution Centre;
  3. Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the dairy production facility, including production, logistics, and maintenance;
  4. Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations including site GMP to ensure expected outcomes are achieved;
  5. Managing and motivating a dedicated team to achieve operational excellence and safety, including review of metrics, individual reviews, performance management, training & development to future proof ongoing production volume increase and maintain safety;
  6. Identifying and implementing process improvements to drive efficiency and innovation;
  7. Collaborating with other areas of the business as well as external stakeholders such as suppliers, service providers and maintenance contractors to achieve effective outcomes;
  8. Providing detailed reporting and analysis to senior management as required

What we're looking for

  1. Extensive experience in a senior operations management role, preferably within the manufacturing industry and ideally in food processing
  2. Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  3. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically and tactically
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels
  5. Thorough understanding of lean manufacturing principles and best practices
  6. Familiarity with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations in the dairy industry
  7. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, such as engineering, operations management, or business administration

About you

The role is well suited to a highly organised person with leadership experience and the ability to coach and train a small team to achieve an excellent standard of safety and a positive work environment for everyone's benefit.

Confidence with spreadsheet planning, stock and inventory control and roster management will position you well to maintain and improve production efficiency.

Stepping in to cover breaks and rolling up the sleeves when there's a deadline to meet are part of this role, where there is a high level of team cooperation and a genuine care to hit the daily time frames.
