What you'll be doing

As the Service Manager, you will lead the Child Protection Counselling Service (CPCS), providing clinical and operational leadership to ensure high-quality, client-centred care for children and families experiencing complex trauma.

  • Supervise and support a team of specialist clinicians delivering complex therapeutic interventions
  • Coordinate clinical service delivery aligned with NSW Health's Violence, Abuse & Neglect Framework
  • Provide expert guidance on high-risk cases and promote staff wellbeing
  • Foster strong partnerships with stakeholders to improve access to care
  • Drive quality improvement, prevention and community education initiatives

Essential Criteria:

  • Licence: Current NSW Driver's License
  • Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling
  • Registration: Eligibility for appropriate professional registration or association membership.

Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification (minimum bachelor degree) in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling and eligibility for appropriate professional registration or association membership.
  • Extensive clinical experience in complex trauma and trauma informed practice within a Violence, Abuse & Neglect setting (e.g. sexual assault, child protection or domestic violence services), with capacity to draw on a wide range of therapeutic models and a commitment to implement integrated models of care.
  • Management or senior clinical leadership experience within a Violence, Abuse & neglect setting, with a demonstrated capacity to provide line management, supervision and clinical advice and support to clinicians working with complex and vulnerable clients.
  • Demonstrated high-level understanding of the inter-related dynamics and effects of sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect and domestic violence, along with knowledge and understanding of current policies, legislation and legal systems relating to child protection and other forms of inter-personal violence.
  • Demonstrated networking and negotiation skills, with the capacity to develop and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of key internal and external stakeholders.
  • High-level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently, lead quality improvement projects and undertake capacity building within the service and across the LHD.
  • Current NSW Driver's License
