  • Newly created role focused on delivering actionable risk insights to support the construction and management of the investment portfolio.

Your New Role
Take ownership in a newly created, high-impact role where your risk insights will directly shape QBE's investment strategy. You'll deliver actionable analysis for portfolio optimisation, drive smarter decision-making, and transform risk monitoring and communication.

Collaborate with senior stakeholders, influence risk governance, and use advanced modelling tools to perform scenario analyses that make a real difference.

Key Duties

  • Deliver actionable risk insights for Portfolio Optimisation, portfolio construction and Asset Liability Management processes.
  • Monitor and report accurately on portfolio risk exposures, communicating regular and timely updates from a first line perspective.
  • Support the maintenance and validation of risk and capital models as required.
  • Contribute to risk-related governance, including contributing to the design and evolution of risk appetites and frameworks.
  • Identify key investment themes (opportunities and risks) to perform bespoke scenario analysis using modelling tools across instantaneous and through-time shock and recovery scenarios, communicating insights/recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholders relating to portfolio risk, particularly in the context of first- and second-line risk interactions.

The recruitment process will consist of 2-3 stages of interviews, psychometric assessment and background checks.

About You
You are passionate about markets with a deep understanding of investment risk. With a strategic and analytical mind, you thrive when solving complex investment problems. You are skilled at simplifying complex analysis into easily communicated and actionable insights to influence portfolio decisions and are a confident collaborator with stakeholders across all levels. When considering risk, you are balanced and pragmatic and are able to think from a first and second line perspective across short and long-term time horizons.

Key Criteria

  • Strong understanding of investment risk management, particularly in an asset management context.
  • Demonstrated strong interest in investments and financial markets.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex risk insights clearly and effectively.
  • Experience with scenario analysis and risk reporting tools.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly across first and second line risk functions.
