About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our team at Newcastle Family Practice part-time, 4 days per week. As a family-oriented medical practice located in Newcastle, NSW 2300, we are looking for someone who can provide exceptional customer service and administrative support to our patients and clinical staff.

What you'll be doing

  • Greeting patients and visitors in a warm and professional manner
  • Booking appointments, managing the patient schedule, and handling inquiries
  • Preparing and maintaining medical files and other administrative records
  • Handling telephone calls, emails, and other patient communications efficiently
  • Assisting with billing, invoicing, and other financial tasks as required
  • Supporting the clinical team with various administrative duties
  • Maintaining a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist within the healthcare industry is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Proficient in the use of Best Practice software, scheduling systems, and general medical administration is highly desirable
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • A friendly, patient, and professional demeanour
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
