DBS Bank Ltd opened its Australia Branch in Sydney in June 2015 and has been steadily growing since this time. DBS Bank Ltd, Australia Branch (DBS Australia) is regulated by Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC). The branch offers a wide range of products and services to wholesale clients through our frontline teams in Institutional Banking Group, Global Transaction Services, Treasury & Markets, and Project Finance. All the teams work closely together to ensure a quality service is enjoyed by our clients.
The frontline teams of DBS Australia are supported by dedicated Technology & Operations, Finance, Risk Management Group, Legal & Compliance, and Human Resources teams in Australia.
About IBG Australia
IBG Australia is the primary client facing function of Australia Branch responsible for customer selection, credit assessment, transaction structuring, due diligence, onboarding and ongoing customer management and reviews in accordance with the Australia Branch strategies, business plans and policies.
Job Purpose
Support IBG Australia in building and maintaining the customer portfolio of DBS Australia including developing DBS' franchise and market position within the Australian banking market.
Key Accountabilities
Support the Team Leader to establish and maintain relationships with large sophisticated Australian companies across Asia, working in conjunction with DBS offices in the respec-tive Asian marketsManage a portfolio of clients and assist with identifying, uncovering, and expanding the depth of relationshipComply with DBS Head Office policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.Assist the branch to achieve 'satisfactory' rating on all audits by internal, external, and regulatory auditorsEnsure the ongoing integrity of customer data and KYC procedures are complied with at all times.Financial Accountabilities
Contribute to achieving various financial targets (i.e. revenue, cross-sell, return on equity, etc.) assigned on an annual basisResponsibilities
Support Team Leader with the execution of financial solutions and service delivery by working closely with product specialists, industry teams, and relationship teams from across the DBS franchiseWork independently on loan origination and execution, including the preparation of credit papers, marketing material and negotiation of facility documentation including ISDAsIdentify pertinent credit, compliance and execution risks relating to deal origination and relationship management and lead the resolution of the sameComplete all supervision reviews and customer monitoring requirements on a timely mannerRequirements
Experience
At least 5 years of institutional banking experience, and ideally with a track record of business origination, credit preparation and sales execution in a front office functionEducation / Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with relevant banking & finance experience is requiredKnowledge and experience in the Australia Telecoms, Media & Technology sector is preferredSkills and Capabilities
Candidates should be pro-active, resourceful and results-oriented. They should be comfortable in a challenging, competitive, fast-paced and dynamic global banking working environmentThey should possess good business acumen, resilience, interpersonal & communication skills, with the patience and ability to resolve issues and achieve outcomes with customers and internal parties
Good credit and analytical skills with a sound grasp of financial modelling preferred
