About the role

Reporting to the Head of Finance his position is responsible for leading and managing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, by ensuring the timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions in line with organisational policies and regulatory requirement. This is an exciting time to join Mercy Community as we introduce a new strategic plan and revise our organisational mission.

Salary commensurate with experience plus superannuation and generous salary packaging available.

This role involves but not limited to -

  • Assist, review and manage the Accounts Payable team in all aspects of invoice processing
  • Manage new supplier and debtor onboarding requests, ensuring accurate data entry into the ERP system
  • Assist, review and manage the Accounts Receivable team in invoicing, customer invoicing, receipt matching and processing, account reconciliations
  • Debtor management including oversee debtor accounts to ensure timely collection, monitoring aging reports, follow up on overdue balances, resolve payment issues, and escalate problematic accounts as needed
  • Ensure the daily management of Accounts Payable, Credit Cards and Accounts Receivable mailboxes ensuring timely responses and processing of incoming queries and documentation

About you

To be successful, you will:

Essential

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • CPA or CA qualification (or working towards)
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience in managing transactional finance teams (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Revenue) in a mid to high volume transactional environment
  • Prior experience working within Not-for-Profit or community services sector including knowledge of prudential compliance requirements under the Aged Care Act
  • Exposure to PRODA and government subsidy claim systems
