Our client in the public health sector is seeking a skilled Research Governance Support Officer to join their research administration team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to ethically sound, high-quality research that supports improved health outcomes across the community.

Your new role

Reporting to a senior officer within the research office, you will be responsible for delivering accurate, efficient, and customer-focused governance support for research, audit, and quality assurance projects. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Providing timely and professional advice to internal and external stakeholders
  • Reviewing and processing Low/Negligible Risk ethics and governance submissions
  • Maintaining research databases and ensuring data integrity
  • Monitoring approved studies and managing amendments
  • Liaising with researchers and committee members to ensure compliance
  • Supporting administrative functions including reporting, documentation, and meeting coordination
  • Contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives aligned with organisational goals

What you'll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you will bring:
  • Demonstrated experience in administrative support, ideally within a research or healthcare setting
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Working knowledge of Human Research Ethics & Governance
  • Understanding of quality improvement principles and medical terminology
  • Ability to work independently, use sound judgement, and manage competing priorities
