The Role

The position of Research & Ethics Training Program (R&ETP) Coordinator is a professional role located in the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (CEVAW). The purpose of the position is to coordinate the Research & Ethics Training program for the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (CEVAW) in collaboration with the Deputy Director (Indigenous). The R&ETP Coordinator will ensure that inclusive methodologies and ethics are consistently adopted across CEVAW providing skills and knowledge for the future generations of gender-based violence researchers.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining detailed enrolment and completion records
  • Contributing to the publication of program findings and innovations; and ensuring effective marketing, publicity, and administration.
  • Close liaison with academics, students, Chief Investigators (CIs), Deputy Directors (DDs), and the CEVAW operations team to support the success of the Program.
  • Building relationships with experts across relevant fields to facilitate Masterclasses;
  • Organising annual events that foster industry and community partnerships and reciprocal mentoring relationships;
  • Overseeing budgeting, financial record keeping, and reconciliation to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the Program.

The Australia Research Council Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence against Women (CEVAW), headquartered at Monash University, is the world's first research centre dedicated to addressing all forms of violence against women across Australia and the Indo-Pacific. With nearly $50 million in funding, CEVAW unites over 40 leading experts, 14 chief investigators from seven Australian institutions, 15 global partner investigators, 33 partner organisations, and more than 100 HDR students and postdoctoral fellows. Through interdisciplinary, data-driven, Indigenous-centred, and co-designed research, CEVAW investigates the structural drivers of violence, generates foundational knowledge on its causes and contexts, and develops scalable, evidence-based solutions to inform transformative policy and practice across legal, security, economic, health, and political systems.

  • Ability to build relationships with Indigenous peoples and communities both nationally and internationally.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage financial and physical resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan at both strategic and operational levels with organisational skills to ensure the delivery and implementation of the Research & Ethics Training Program and projects.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively, diplomatically, and effectively with Indigenous researchers, students and staff in an organisational setting.
  • Highly developed conceptual, analytical, problem-solving skills and ability to develop innovative solutions.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to design and create promotional materials (e.g. Canva)
  • Strong and sensitive negotiation skills, and ability to navigate intercultural contexts and communications.
