Whether you're a seasoned AQF Level 5 consultant or a student nearing completion, you'll have the chance to work on diverse, impactful projects while developing your expertise.

Canopy Consulting is a leading arboricultural consultancy combining operational, field, and office expertise to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions to a diverse client base. We partner with councils, utilities, developers, and land managers across NSW to ensure the sustainable management of large tree populations. Our team is known for technical excellence, cutting-edge technology, and practical, client-focused outcomes.

Your Role

You'll work on varied and challenging projects, including:

  • Tree inspections, health assessments, and detailed species identification
  • Tree risk assessments using TRAQ, QTRA, or VALID methodologies
  • Aerial inspections, resistance drill testing, and GNSS tree mapping
  • Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Project Arborist roles (AS4970 compliance)
  • Development site monitoring and tree protection supervision
  • GIS mapping and data analysis
  • Plant health care and tree injection treatments
  • Mentoring junior staff (for senior hires) or receiving mentoring (for junior hires)
What We're Looking For
  • AQF Level 5 Diploma in Arboriculture (or equivalent) or Certificate III with relevant experience AQF Level 5 – students close to completion encouraged to apply
  • Excellent species ID and sound management recommendation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Knowledge of AS & AS , and willingness to work within ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 systems
  • Current Australian driver's licence (manual), white card, WWCC, and police check
  • GIS software skills or willingness to learn (bonus)
  • Previous climbing experience (bonus)
