"The Disability Support Worker provides personalized care and support to adults with autism, helping them to achieve their personal goals, develop life skills, and foster independence. The worker creates a safe and supportive environment, promoting social interaction and engagement in community activities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  1. **Individualized Support:**

  2. Assist clients in daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household management.

  3. **Social Skills Development:**

  4. Facilitate social interactions and community involvement, encouraging clients to participate in group activities and events.

  5. Support clients in developing communication and social skills through structured activities.

  6. **Behavior Management:**

  7. Monitor and manage challenging behaviors using positive reinforcement techniques and strategies tailored to individual needs.

  8. Maintain a calm and supportive environment, addressing any behavioral challenges with empathy and understanding.

  9. **Health and Safety:**

  10. Ensure the health and safety of clients by following established protocols and guidelines.

  11. Administer medications and assist with medical needs as required, in accordance with care plans.

  12. **Documentation and Reporting:**

  13. Maintain accurate records of client progress, incidents, and any changes in behavior or health.

  14. Communicate effectively with family members, healthcare providers, and other team members regarding client needs and progress.

  15. **Professional Development:**

  16. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay informed about best practices in autism support and care.

  17. Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists and educators, to enhance support strategies.
