St John Ambulance Australia (NT) Inc. (St John NT) is the Northern Territory's leading provider of emergency medical response and preparedness. We deliver this through a wide range of services, including operating the Territory's ambulance service under contract to the NT Government, coordinating emergency responses, providing health and first aid support at events, as well as delivering nationally accredited first aid training and community education.
About the Role
The Duty Manager Southern is a frontline management role based in Alice Springs. During your shift you will be responsible for the supervision of staff and resources to deliver effective and efficient ambulance service delivery.
Maintaining oversight of an Intensive Care Critical Response Unit, Emergency Ambulances and a Non-Emergency Patient Transport service, you will ensure that a high standard of patient care is delivered. This will be achieved through professional leadership and support to operational staff, with an expectation that you will exercise initiative, judgement and promote a positive workplace culture.
You will also be utilised in a single response clinical capacity as required.

The successful applicant must have:
- A current Authority to Practice as a Qualified Paramedic, with at least 3 years on-road experience with a recognised State or Territory emergency ambulance service.
- AHPRA registration as a Paramedic.
- Demonstrated people management skills, including providing staff support, staff development and performance improvement.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Well-developed problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills.
- A strong ability to work in a team environment.
- The ability to handle multiple responsibilities
