About The ABC
The ABC is the nation's most trusted and independent source of Australian conversations, culture, and stories. With over 4,500 employees from diverse backgrounds across over 50 locations around Australia and overseas, we are proud to create, curate and deliver high-quality content that informs, educates and entertains Australian communities.
About The Role
Are you passionate about career development and growth opportunities in Quality Engineering?
We're looking for a QA Engineer who is ready to step into the next phase of their career. In this role, you will build a strong understanding of system requirements to ensure high quality software is delivered for the ABC's main web application platform.
Under the guidance of the Senior QA Engineer, and in collaboration with colleagues, you will develop and maintain automation frameworks for authoring platforms while contributing to the product team's strategy and approach to automation testing.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to enter the media industry and broaden your skills by testing new features and solutions using both exploratory and manual techniques.
About You
You're a QA Engineer with proven experience developing automation tests using frameworks like Playwright, K6 (or similar). You're confident testing end-to-end user journeys across web and cloud environments, validating how APIs, databases, and content management systems (such as CoreMedia) interact.
You've worked with AWS services (like SNS/SQS, EC2/ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB/S3), CI/CD pipelines, and you're comfortable testing websites across multiple platforms, using testing services like BrowserStack.
You bring solid skills in TypeScript/JavaScript & Git, workflow tools like JIRA, and you enjoy collaborating with engineers to embed quality throughout the development process.
You're someone who's eager to keep building technical expertise, tackle complex problems, and contribute to delivering reliable, high-quality products.
ABC Values:
aiming high, thinking differently, taking ownership, and delivering together.
Join ABC's Digital Product team – where purpose meets innovation.
We're building the ABC's digital future, transforming from a traditional broadcaster into Australia's most trusted and valued digital media organisation. Through creativity, collaboration and technical excellence, we're not just keeping up – we're leading the way.
Our team designs and delivers the ABC's audience-facing digital products across mobile, connected TV, desktop and smart speakers. From breaking news and binge-worthy shows on iView, to the Hottest 100 on Triple j or Playtime with the ABC Kids app – we create some of Australia's most loved and most used platforms.
Your work here will be used and appreciated by millions. You'll join an open, supportive team where your voice matters, and your growth is prioritised. We actively invest in professional development – with every team member given a dedicated training and development budget – and we champion flexible, collaborative ways of working to help you thrive.
