Build, Shape and Lead Human Resources at The After School Klub
About TASK
Over the past 12 years, TASK has grown from a small operation into a thriving Outside School Hours Care provider with 36 sites across NSW. With that growth comes an exciting new chapter. We're now investing in a dedicated HR function to strengthen our foundations and build for the future.
We're looking for a practical, people-focused HR Manager to join our leadership team and help us bring this vision to life. This is a rare opportunity to build and shape HR from the ground up, to put your stamp on policies, systems, and culture in a business that values initiative, collaboration, and real outcomes.
About the Role
Reporting to the CEO, you'll lead a small HR team and deliver across the full employee lifecycle, from compliance and employee relations through to engagement, capability, and wellbeing.
In the early phase, your focus will be on:
- Strengthening our foundations across Employment Relations, Policies and Procedures, and WHS
- Embedding consistent, compliant, and practical HR processes
- Supporting and coaching managers on performance, conduct, and people matters
- Leading HR projects that make life easier for our people and improve how we work
As the function matures, you'll have the opportunity to drive initiatives in learning and development, culture, and engagement, helping TASK grow as a great place to work.
About You
You're a motivated, outcome-driven HR professional who enjoys rolling up your sleeves and getting things done. You thrive in environments where you can build, influence, and see the impact of your work every day.
You'll bring:
- Broad generalist HR experience, ideally across multiple sites or a diverse workforce
- Sound knowledge of Australian employment law, industrial relations, and WHS
- Confidence to coach and guide managers through complex people issues
- A proactive mindset and the ability to balance day to day delivery with long term improvement
- Strong communication skills and the credibility to work closely with leaders and staff alike
Why Join TASK?
- Be part of a growing organisation that's investing in its people and culture
- Work directly with the CEO and leadership team to shape the HR function
- Lead a small, capable team with genuine autonomy and trust
- See tangible outcomes from your work and real impact on people and performance.
- If you're ready to build, lead and make your mark in a hands-on HR role, we'd love to hear from you.
At TASK we are dedicated to promoting equal opportunities for our colleagues—regardless of gender, race, socio-economic background, age, disability, sexual orientation, or national origin.
