That Dumpling Place is a well-established and fast-growing retail and hospitality business located in Ipswich CBD. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced and dedicated Retail /Hospitality Manager to join our leadership team.

About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Retail/Hospitality Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our food retail and hospitality business. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership, business acumen, and the ability to manage both in-store operations and external market sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and evaluate the operations of the retail and hospitality business
  • Lead, supervise, and train staff to achieve performance and service targets
  • Manage inventory, stock levels, purchasing, and supplier relationships
  • Organise and oversee local weekend and public holiday food market stalls
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, food safety, and company policies
  • Handle customer service, feedback, and complaints in a professional manner
  • Prepare staff rosters, manage recruitment, and conduct performance reviews
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance, budgets, and profitability
  • Implement marketing and promotional activities to increase sales of semi-cooked pastry and dumpling products
  • Work closely with our chef/director to develop and expand takeaway pastry and dumpling product lines
  • Contribute to business planning and the development of future franchise opportunities in the hospitality sector

Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum 1 years' experience in a management role within the retail or hospitality industry
  • Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in hospitality, business, or management (degree from an Australian university highly regarded)
  • Strong business and analytical skills
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, staffing, and inventory control
  • High level of problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required
