The Reserve Bank of Australia is looking for Integration Specialists who will manage and provide expert services in relation to the strategy, plan, design, build, test, change implementation and lifecycle management of integration services used at the Bank. In this role, the Integration Specialist will ensure that the Bank's highly available, cyber security controls and data protection requirements are met throughout the 365 days, 24 x 7 business operation.
About the Role
- Deliver capital projects and BAU enhancements involving integration technologies that enable secure, reliable data exchange between internal systems and external partners.
- Provide expert input into the selection, design, implementation, and roadmap of integration and middleware technologies used across the Bank.
- Support and maintain a wide range of integration platforms, ensuring lifecycle management (upgrades, patching, obsolescence, asset tracking), cyber security compliance, and operational resilience.
- Ensure 24x7 availability and stability of integration services critical to business operations, with a strong focus on high availability, performance, and security.
- Participate in 3rd-line incident response and problem resolution for B2B file transfer and integration-related issues, following ITIL and ITSM best practices.
- Provide integration design consultancy to ensure secure, scalable, and auditable inter-system communication.
- Maintain and uplift the Centre of Excellence for integration, including documentation, technical artefacts, and knowledge sharing.
- Promote integration best practices and governance through collaboration, coaching, and consultation across IT and business teams.
Middleware & Integration Technologies
Experience in some of the following is expected:
- IBM WebSphere Suite: MQ, ACE, BAW (Business Automation Workflow), ODM (Operational Decision Manager)
- Spring Boot, Tomcat, Embedded Tomcat
- CI/CD with Azure DevOps, and awareness of cloud infrastructure
- IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, Connect:Direct, SWIFTNet
About You
You bring hands-on experience in:
- Programming/Scripting: Java, Shell, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, YAML
- Protocols: SFTP, HTTPS, SOAP, SMTP, TCP/IP, SWIFTNet
- OS & Databases: Linux/Windows, Oracle, SQL Server
- Security & Infrastructure: SSL, PGP, LDAP, Active Directory, firewalls, load balancers

- You have working knowledge of middleware technologies and are comfortable learning and supporting platforms such as IBM WebSphere, MQ, ACE, BAW, ODM, and others as needed.
