About the role

As an Assistant Manager at Pete n Rosies Deli, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our busy retail store located in Prahran, VIC. Reporting directly to the Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of customer service professionals and ensuring the smooth running of all store activities. This full-time position offers opportunities for growth and development within a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.

What you'll be doing

  1. Assist the Store Manager in leading and motivating a team of sales associates to deliver exceptional customer service
  2. Oversee the effective management of store inventory, merchandising, and visual displays
  3. Handle cash management, banking, and other financial responsibilitie
  4. Contribute to the implementation of sales strategies and initiatives to drive store revenue and profitability
  5. Act as the Store Manager in their absence, taking on all necessary duties and responsibilities

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 2 years of experience in a retail management or supervisory role
  2. Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  3. Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities
  4. Proficient in cash handling, inventory management, and financial reporting
  5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with customers, staff, and management
  6. Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing retail environment
  7. Passion for the retail industry and a genuine interest in providing an exceptional shopping experience
