Front End Developer
Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 + super + company bonus incentives
About the role
We're seeking a Front-End Developer to design and implement the user experience for an AI-enhanced documentation and development tool used across enterprise by both technical and non-technical users alike.
This is a greenfield project, giving you the opportunity to make influential decisions including the choice of framework and establish a front-end foundation for years to come.
This role suits someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is able to take complete ownership of delivering a reliable, intuitive and visually compelling user interface, and who values clean code, test-driven development, and engineering best practices.
What you will do
- Collaborate with the team to model the system from the user's perspective, including their understanding of state, data, and interactions.
- Design an intuitive GUI that uses familiar paradigms to align features with the model of the system.
- Develop a front-end codebase that achieves architectural goals of maintainable, extensibility and testability.
- Validate your work with unit, integration and user acceptance tests, iterating based on feedback.
Experience and qualifications
Required:
- Full working rights in Australia.
- Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong engineering fundamentals with a deep understanding of UI/UX design and software design principles (Clean Code, SOLID, TDD).
- Expertise in a modern front-end ecosystem (React, Vue, Angular or similar).
Preferred:
- Familiarity with developer tooling (Git, JIRA, Confluence, Docker, GitHub Actions).
- Experience working in larger organizations, with an understanding of what works (and what doesn't).
- Experience building chat-like interfaces through adaptable components.
- Experience building or integrating interactive data visualization components such as charts, graphs and dynamic tables.
- Experience building user interfaces that clearly convey system state, such as:
- Admin-controlled options accessible through an admin menu
- Error messages that provide clear, actionable feedback to users
- Ability to design interfaces that "just works" with low learning curves and reliable behavior.
- Experience building complete front-ends architectures from scratch with maintainability, extensibility and testability in mind.
- Experience using UI/UX tools such as Figma, Playwright, Storybook, or Selenium.
We understand applicants' work and life experience comes in many ways, shapes and forms. If your experience is close, but not a perfect match, and you believe you could be successful in this role, we're happy for you to apply.
