Role Overview

As an Events Supervisor, you will play a hands-on and versatile role, balancing administrative responsibilities with on-the-floor event supervision. You will be the link between clients, staff, and vendors - ensuring all details are managed behind the scenes while also leading the execution of events on the day.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is organised, proactive, and detail-oriented, with the ability to switch seamlessly between event admin and operational leadership. You will work closely with the Events Manager and gain valuable exposure across both client services and venue operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage event enquiries, bookings, and client communications via email and phone.
  • Assist with event administration, including updating event details, schedules, and documentation.
  • Supervise and support bar staff during events, ensuring smooth service and professional presentation.
  • Liaise with clients and vendors to ensure requirements are met and expectations are exceeded.
  • Oversee setup, running, and pack down of events ranging from small meetings to large-scale conferences and concerts.
  • Identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively, maintaining a calm and professional presence on the floor.
  • Support the Events Manager in ensuring York Events' high standards are consistently delivered.

About You

  • Experience in event coordination, hospitality, or customer service is preferred (not essential).
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator who can build relationships with clients, staff, and vendors.
  • A proactive problem-solver who remains calm under pressure.
  • Flexible and adaptable — equally comfortable behind a desk or leading a team on the floor.
  • Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and late finishes as required.
  • RSA certification required (bar experience an advantage).
  • Australian work rights are required for this position.
