Role Overview
As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at Ferrier Engineering, you will gain exposure to a wide variety of projects within the water and wastewater industries, working alongside a highly skilled team of engineers and drafters.
As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing designs for mechanical, structural, and process systems
- Carrying out CAD work and design drafting, including the preparation of design and fabrication drawings
- Attending project sites (occasionally) to assist with 3D laser scanning, setout activities, or site investigation work to support accurate design and project delivery
This role provides the opportunity to develop both your technical and practical engineering skills across the full project lifecycle, from initial design through to on-site delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and review designs using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software
- Assist with project management activities and support the delivery of engineering projects
- Participate in site visits to gain practical, hands-on experience
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to achieve high-quality engineering outcomes
About You
- Qualifications: Currently completing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (final-year students encouraged to apply)
- Academic Performance: Strong academic background with demonstrated achievement in your studies
- Engineering Exposure: While previous industry exposure is advantageous, it is not essential
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software
- Eligibility: You must have full Australian working rights to be eligible for this position
- Availability: Ability to commence full-time employment from September 2025
