Graduate Civil or Mechanical Engineer - Brisbane

AVR Consulting is a valuation and risk consulting practice, based in the Brisbane CBD.

Due to recent growth, we are seeking a graduate civil or mechanical engineer to join our team. Candidates with two or more years post-graduate experience are also encouraged to apply.

We are a multi-disciplined boutique consulting business; however, we specialise in providing cost estimates and asset valuations for financial reporting and insurance purposes across a wide range of asset classes.

Our clients vary both in size and geographical location and as such, we regularly travel domestically. Our clients also operate across many sectors including the public sector, not for profit, education, health care, mining, power & energy, and religious sectors, as well as the commercial and industrial sectors. The work we undertake is interesting, diverse, and often unique.

About You

You will have, or be close to obtaining, a bachelor's degree in either civil or mechanical engineering.

You will also be:

  • Dependable.
  • Willing to regularly travel as required.
  • Capable of working autonomously when required.
  • Willing to serve our clients to a high standard.
  • Willing to collaborate and help other team members, especially in busy periods.
  • Positive and confident
  • A good communicator (written and verbal).
  • Computer literate in MS Word and Excel (GIS, cost estimation or asset management experience will be advantageous).

The Role

You will:

  • Undertake site inspections of a diverse range of assets, and the preparation of cost estimates and valuation reports.
  • Research construction costs and analyse market evidence.
  • Measure and analyse construction drawings.
  • Manage work tasks to ensure compliance with our service agreements
  • Adhere to quality reporting standards
  • Build and maintain business relationships
