About the role

The AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) Team Leader of Intake/Assessments and Specialist Pharmacotherapy services role is focussed on both clinically and operationally overseeing the initial stages of a client's journey into treatment. It is a key role in coordinating client access and flow of admissions, discharges, transfers to residential AOD treatment services that support the optimization of bed utilization. This includes pharmacotherapy services in a broader addiction and mental health context in handling referrals, conducting assessments, providing interventions, to help clients manage opioid use disorder in specialist clinics and with community-based providers.

This role plays a vital role in ensuring smooth AOD service delivery and positive client outcomes to vulnerable and often disenfranchised clients, not only to the Western Metropolitan area of Melbourne, but also Victoria.

Key responsibilities:

  • Clinically and operationally lead a multidisciplinary team
  • Coordinate admissions, discharges, transfers in supporting access and flow to residential services to optimize bed utilisation
  • Oversee day to day operations of Intake, Assessment and Specialist Pharmacotherapy services
  • Provide trauma informed person centred care
  • Promote harm minimization and recovery oriented approach

About you:

  • Qualification in Nursing Social Work, Community Development Work
  • Post Graduate qualifications in AOD or related fields
  • Experience working in the AOD sector in service delivery, case management with the ability to provide direct support to staff
  • Strong communication interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • Facilitate and contribute to programme development and service improvements
