Greater Sydney Area, Australia Qvest Global Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

Job description

Engineer (ICT & AV Systems)

Qvest Australia Pty Ltd

Sydney NSW, Full-time

About the Role

Qvest Australia is seeking an Engineer (ICT & AV Systems) to join our Sydney team. You will be working across the full project cycle—designing, configuring, testing, installing and commissioning professional audio/visual, broadcast and ICT systems, and ensuring support service is completed to the high standards we are known for.

This is a hands-on engineering role that includes both office-based and on-site work, contributing directly to high-profile public sector and broadcast projects. While the role is suited to candidates with at least 3 years' ICT/AV experience, applicants with broader solution design or senior-level experience will be highly regarded.

Your Tasks

·      Configure, test, and commission professional AV, broadcast, and ICT systems.

·      Collaborate with project, support, logistics, and drafting teams throughout the project lifecycle.

·      Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing efficient client support.

·      Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records.

·      Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

·      Identify and apply methods to improve work efficiency.

·      Participation in a shared on-call roster and occasional after-hours work may be required.

·      (For more experienced candidates) Lead on technical design decisions, mentor junior engineers, and take ownership of complex workstreams.

Your Skills

·      Degree or equivalent experience in IT, Networking, Audio/Visual, or related field.

·      Practical experience in ICT networking (switching, routing, VLANs, firewalls) and AV integration (e.g., Dante, AES67, ST2110).

·      Experience with server and storage systems, and familiarity with virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V, XCP-ng) as well as Database (SQL, MariaDB) is desirable.

·      Experience in hardware installation, electronic engineering and basic mechanical engineering would be a bonus.

·      Strong problem-solving ability and great communication skills to liaise with clients, colleagues and management.

·      Well-organised, detail-oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team.

·      Be able to work under pressure with tight deadlines.

·      A fast learner with the ability to understand complex systems.

·      (For candidates with greater experience) Proven track record in solution architecture, system design, or leading complex technical projects.
