Our 3-2-1 Hybrid Working Model
- 3 days from anywhere in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand per week,
- 2 days from an RACP office location per week,
- 1 of the two days per week in office spent with your team.
The RACP is undertaking a significant transformation program which is designed to enhance member value, modernise core systems, and build the digital and data capabilities needed to thrive in a changing health and education landscape. The Program's key goals are to significantly improve member satisfaction, employee experience, and reduce cost to serve.
The Technical Product Owner (PO) sits within the member experience workstream within the program. The role will support the Product Owner (Member Experience) by taking ownership of, defining and delivering the roadmap and backlog and working with the implementation team on a day-to-day basis to deliver and eventually operate a new member portal, called "MyRACP", and website.
The role is deliberately intended to blend a traditional Product Owner skillset with that of a Business Analyst, and someone with a technical background or technical understanding working with the types of platforms that the College is looking to implement.
Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with the PO (Member Experience) to develop and maintain the prioritised backlog and roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall vision, goals and program dependencies.
Support PO (Member Experience) and implementation partners in requirements gathering and documentation (including user stories, acceptance criteria and technical specifications). This includes performing a light-weight "business analyst" capacity to assist in documentation, breakdown of epics, features, stories, etc., and so on if necessary.
- Provide basic guidance and technical expertise on platform implementation and platform capabilities, and direction on feasibility and technical solutions in collaboration with technical leads and architects.
- Work with cross-functional Agile delivery team (UX, design, developers, QA, supplier(s) to define, document and deliver high-quality features iteratively.
- Actively participate in sprint ceremonies, including backlog grooming, planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Refine and clarify user stories with the team to ensure shared understanding of requirements and implementation approach.
- Complete in sprint testing, SIT and UAT including "acceptance" of work delivered by the Supplier(s) on behalf of business stakeholders
- Constant collaboration with the Core systems ('back-of-house' systems) stream to ensure optimal and aligned solution delivery and management of dependencies, particular as it relates to the delivery of features which require integration via API or some other form of system connectivity.
- Support stakeholder communication, readiness and adoption activities.
In order to be considered for this role we do require the following skills and experience:
- 8+ years' experience delivering large-scale digital transformation programs.
- Experience as a Technical Product Owner or Technical Business Analyst, or experience in a similar role with a background or skillset that allows you to step into this capacity.
- Strong demonstrated capability in "product thinking", road mapping, epic & feature breakdown, as well as associated business analysis capabilities such as requirements elicitation, documentation, diagramming, process mapping, etc. In particular experience in a digital product development workstream is preferred rather than more traditional business analysis experience.
