Enrolled Nurse (Casual) – Genuine Connection Care

Location: Pakenham Area

Salary: $39 per hour

Schedule: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays — 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. & 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

About the Role

Genuine Connection Care is seeking a compassionate and experienced Enrolled Nurse (EN) to provide clinical oversight and personal care for a client, Keith, who has recently been discharged from Casey Hospital following treatment for urinary retention. Keith currently has an Indwelling Catheter (IDC) in place and will require support until his upcoming surgery in approximately 4–8 weeks.

His wife, Judith, has been assisting with IDC management but is experiencing chronic back pain, making professional nursing support essential to ensure Keith's optimal care and to relieve the physical strain on Judith.

The role will involve assisting with the clinical management of the IDC — including disconnecting and connecting the night bag, adjusting the leg bag, and providing personal care both morning and evening.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight and management of the client's Indwelling Catheter (IDC) morning and evening.
  • Deliver personal care support, including hygiene, dressing, and mobility assistance.
  • Monitor the client's health and wellbeing, and report any changes to the care coordinator or healthcare professionals.
  • Support the client's independence and dignity in all aspects of care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential care documentation and progress notes.
  • Collaborate with the Genuine Connection Care team, healthcare professionals, and family members to ensure continuity and quality of care.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse (EN).
  • Experience in catheter care and personal care support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathetic, reliable, and professional approach to care.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
  • First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Current Driver's Licence and access to own vehicle (preferred).
