OPERATIONS MANAGER – EXCOM CIVIL (FULL-TIME)

Excom Civil is a proud family-owned and operated company providing specialist vacuum excavation, liquid waste disposal and civil support services across NSW. We have built our reputation on reliability, genuine relationships and getting the job done safely and efficiently.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a driven, confident and highly capable Operations Manager to step into a key leadership role within our business.

This is a rare opportunity to join a tight-knit team and eventually take ownership of the day-to-day running of the company.


About the Role

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily field operations, managing our team of operators and ensuring high-quality service delivery for all clients.

You will be the "go-to" person on the ground - solving problems as they arise, managing schedules, maintaining strong client relationships and supporting business growth through professionalism and initiative.

This role is best suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is mechanically minded and confident leading from the front.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate and support our team of operators
  • Manage daily scheduling, job allocations and workflow coordination
  • Be the point of contact for clients - building trust, maintaining relationships, and developing new opportunities
  • Assist with quoting, job planning and applying for tender oppurtunities
  • Solve operational issues quickly and effectively
  • Oversee fleet management and ensure plant is compliant and maintained
  • Drive continuous improvement across safety, efficiency and service quality
  • Uphold and represent Excom Civil's values as a family-run, community-oriented business

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • An experienced leader with a strong operations background – civil, construction, transport or utilities experience highly regarded
  • Mechanically minded and confident working around trucks, plant and equipment
  • A proactive problem solver who can think on their feet
  • A clear and confident communicator
  • Comfortable taking control and making decisions
  • Organised, reliable and committed to high standards
  • Not afraid to jump in, get their hands dirty, and support the team where needed
  • Experienced in client-facing roles and relationship building
