Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Family Engagement Practitioner to work within the Family and Child Connect team, Ipswich.

This position will deliver outreach, short-term, 6-week case work to families, children, and caregivers to facilitate community connectedness, social learning, good health, and wellbeing.

In addition, you will be providing practice leadership and supervision to a team of Family Engagement Practitioners.

This position works in partnership with community, other agencies and professionals to ensure families are well supported, creating opportunities and pathways for positive family functioning and wellbeing.

The role involves:

  • Leadership, consultation, and guidance to a team of Family Engagement practitioners in the delivery of their outreach to families with moderate to high needs within a child safe context.
  • Provision of practice development, oversight and guidance across practice for the team.
  • Providing case management support to your own case load of families.
  • Leadership and participation in regular multidisciplinary meetings, supervision, case conferences and case review meetings to ensure a high-quality service delivery.
  • Assistance with high-risk client escalation processes, where required.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams in decision making and/or demonstrated experience in a range of mental health and/or child protection services facilitating case reviews/case consultation.
  • Minimum 4-5 years preferred providing formal supervision and leadership in community services sector.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills; you will be confident when documenting case notes and competent in using database systems.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills (including but not limited to communication, conflict resolution, leadership, and positive attitude)
  • Lastly, you relate to and demonstrate the qualities of integrity, respect, genuineness, humility, and empathy.
