Paget Queensland Australia HBT Group Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

The Customer Support Manager works closely with leading underground mining companies to ensure that HBT is the preferred supplier of OEM longwall product and equipment. This is done by leading and managing a high performing team which includes sales managers, accounts, parts and field services.

Key performance indicators include:


• Managing budgets


• Increasing sales


• Increasing market share


• Setting and attaining growth targets


• Recognising growth opportunities

The successful applicant will work closely with the General Manager, Warehouse Manager and Workshop Manager as well as supporting aftermarket sales by overseeing quotations, parts, and order tracking to deliver maximum customer value.

Key Responsibilities include:


• Implementing agreed sales strategies within set timeframes and monitoring progress against targets


• Actively pursuing and securing profitable sales and service opportunities


• Preparing monthly reports on departmental activity and sales performance


• Providing and maintaining accurate sales forecasts


• Overseeing staffing, training, and performance evaluations


• Developing and implementing parts and service sales plans by customer and commodity


• Developing and executing sales strategies for aftermarket longwall mining equipment parts


• Staying informed on industry trends and market intelligence


• Managing preparation of tenders, quotes, and sales materials


• Reporting monthly on open, closed, and lost aftermarket sales opportunities

Previous Knowledge & Experience:


• Successful experience in relevant account management and product support


• Demonstrated skills in business development


• Capacity to manage people and to lead and work co-operatively in a team


• Proven sales and marketing background with a strong emphasis on understanding the customer's needs


• Project and Contract management experience desirable


• Understanding and commitment to QA and Continuous improvement

Essential Criteria:


• Successful sales experience


• Tender and contract management experience


• Previous experience managing and implementing sales and services strategies


• Knowledge of growth strategies


• Can manage budgets and forecasting


• Is able to set and navigate a strategic direction


• Maintains confidentiality


• Safety-focused with experience in Longwall Equipment


• Willing to travel to customer sites and distribution facilities


• Strong relationship management and goal-oriented mindset
