About the role

Substance Espresso is seeking a skilled Chef De Partie to join our team in our Runaway Bay. As an A la carte Brunch Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes for our customers in a very fast-paced cafe environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and cooking a range of cafe-style meals, including breakfast, lunch, and snack items
  • Ensuring all dishes are prepared to a high standard and delivered in a timely manner
  • Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen workspace
  • Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Collaborating with the front-of-house team to provide excellent customer service
  • Assisting with menu development and item experimentation as needed

What we're looking for

  • Relevant experience as a Cafe Chef or Cook, preferably in a fast-paced environment as our dockets don't stop
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
  • A passion for creating delicious, high-quality cafe-style dishes
  • Ability to work well in a team and a positive, customer-focused attitude
  • Food safety and hygiene certification
  • Weekend availability essential (with flexibility for requesting weekends off for life commitments as needed)
  • Ideally hours a week with room to move to full time salary available for the right candidate.
