Social Program

Spectrum Space is a not-for-profit organisation committed to providing quality opportunities for people on the autism spectrum to develop and display their strengths, capacity and contributions to the world around them. Our organisation focuses on a strength-based approach in all aspects of our operations.

We are currently seeking a Program Supervisor to assist with providing support to our Program Facilitators as well as ensuring that the culture of our organisation is consistent across all locations. The Program Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, mentoring, and quality oversight to all program delivery staff including facilitators, volunteers, and placement students. The Program Supervisor ensures consistency and compliance in program delivery and supports team collaboration and cohesion.

The role is based in Fremantle, however, Spectrum Space runs programs across a number of locations including Mandurah, Rockingham, Secret Harbour, Fremantle, Cockburn, Midland and Marangaroo. The Program Supervisor will visit each of these locations on a regular basis to conduct supervision. A valid WA drivers licence and your own vehicle is therefore required. The role is classified under the SCHADS award as a level 3.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Mentorship & Support

• Mentor new facilitators and provide support and guidance on program delivery
• Act as the first point of contact for facilitator concerns, questions, or incident escalation.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive team environment that encourages collaboration and open communication.
• Facilitate informal coaching, debriefing, and reflective practice sessions.

Program Delivery Quality & Consistency

• Attend and observe program sessions to monitor delivery and provide structured feedback and escalate if required.
• Support consistent facilitation practices across locations in alignment with organisational values and quality standards.
• Identify and flag risks, delivery challenges, or skill gaps for early intervention.
• Step in to deliver programs when facilitators are unavailable or for modelling best practice.

Volunteer & Student Supervision

• Coordinate the onboarding and orientation of volunteers and student placements.
• Provide ongoing support and clarify roles, expectations, and boundaries.
• Monitor participation and escalate issues as required.
• Ensure student placement learning goals are achieve by set deadlines.

Communication & Culture

• Foster collaboration and connection between facilitators across locations
• Help build a culture of continuous improvement and shared learning.

What you ideally will bring to the role

• Relevant tertiary qualification (i.e social work, psychology, counselling, community services, occupational therapy) and/or significant experience in a relevant field.
• A strength-based understanding of neurodiversity, particularly autism.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide and mentor others.
• Proven experience managing/supervising teams of staff and volunteers including providing feedback and reviews.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and proven ability to implement change in a supportive manner.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to problem solve under pressure.
• High standard of written and verbal communication.
• WA C class licence with a reliable vehicle and be willing to travel to locations as far south as Mandurah and as far north as Marangaroo.
