About the role

Become the Shift Supervisor at Sea Breeze Café @ Cairns Hospital, a key leadership role within our thriving cafe located in Cairns, Queensland. As Shift Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our cafe, ensuring product quality, customer satisfaction, and a positive team environment. This casual position offers a unique opportunity to enhance and grow your management skills within the dynamic cafe industry.

What you'll be doing

· Supervising and coordinating the cafe team to ensure efficient and high-quality production and service

· Maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards throughout the cafe

· Providing hands-on support and training to cafe staff as needed

· Liaising with the management team to identify opportunities for process improvements

· Ensuring customer orders are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner

· Fostering a positive and collaborative work environment for the cafe team

· A positive can-do attitude

· Shifts are Monday to Friday 0530am to 1330pm

What we're looking for

· Supervisory experience in a cafe or similar food production environment

· A minimum 2 years' experience in a leadership role

· Have worked in a fast-paced environment and can multitask

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team

· Barista experience is essential

· Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service

· Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays

We are a fast-paced café in the Cairns Hospital; we deliver grab and go style service with great coffee and healthy fresh food.

Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation

We raise funds to directly support the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service and the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service, which care for nearly 285,000 people from Tully to the Torres Strait.

Our goal is to improve the quality and accessibility of health care in our region for everyone. In other words, we want all Far North Queenslanders – from mums and bubs to veterans and everybody in between – to enjoy a full range of quality health care services close to home.
