In this role, you'll:

Report to the Manager Operational Capability Development within the Coordinator General division in a temporary full-time role (up to 12 months). You will uplift the capability of our Operational Management teams. You will design, deliver and maintain training and assessment programs, ensure accurate competency records, and provide regular reporting.

A key part of the role is identifying current operational and technical capabilities needed to build a skilled and future-ready workforce. You will work closely with subject matter experts, the Learning and Development team, and external partners to deliver high-quality technical training programs that align with business plans, organisational objectives and legislative requirements.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in operational environments such as tunnel operations, transport management or large-scale infrastructure projects, with a background in 24/7 operations.

The position is based onsite at McLeod's Shoot, with possible travel required to deliver training at other sites.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to deliver a short 10-minute presentation during the Interview.

About you

You bring proven experience in the design, development and implementation of workforce development and capability uplift programs, with a strong focus on applying human factors and risk management practices in the learning environment. You have a solid understanding of best-practice strategies in learning and development, and are confident applying human-centred design, instructional design, facilitation, and project management principles to deliver effective training across a diverse workforce.

Experience in a frontline operational environment - such as transport management, incident response or emergency management will be highly regarded.

To be successful, you will hold a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or a higher adult education qualification) or be willing to obtain this in a short timeframe. A valid Australian driver's licence is required, along with the flexibility to work outside standard hours and travel as needed across NSW.
