Vectiq is seeking TSPV-cleared Cloud Engineers to join a highly skilled and collaborative team within a Federal Government department based in Canberra.

  • 12-month contract with long-term extension options
  • Must be an Australian Citizen
  • Current or past TSPV HOLDERS ONLY may apply

About the Role

As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting cloud infrastructure and services across complex and secure environments. This position involves working closely with solution architects, security teams, and other IT professionals to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions aligned with business and mission-critical objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy cloud-based solutions in alignment with enterprise architecture and security standards
  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Monitor cloud environments to ensure performance, security, and availability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and services
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to integrate cloud services with existing systems
  • Maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments where possible
  • Provide guidance on cloud governance, cost optimisation, and technical best practices
  • Ensure compliance with Government cloud security frameworks, policies, and accreditation requirements

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud environments
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Familiarity with cloud security principles, Zero Trust Architecture, and IRAP assessments
  • Experience with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Solid understanding of network, storage, and compute services within cloud environments
  • Experience working in secure government environments is highly desirable
