This role sits within our Data and Analytics Innovation team and you will deliver clear executive-level reports of how our customer base is evolving to enable sharper decisions. This is an 8-week contract role, ideally based in our Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney CBD offices (we are open to remote work within Australia for the right candidate).

We offer a flexible, hybrid work environment that blends remote work with on-site presence as needed to meet project deliverables. Please note, this role will be engaged as a contractor, on assignment at the Lottery Corporation through Hudson RPO.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to deeply understand customer pain points and identify opportunities for data-driven innovation
  • Translate customer domain knowledge into practical, iterative data science solutions that deliver measurable value
  • Lead the end-to-end development of advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI components, from research and design to deployment and monitoring
  • Operate within agile teams to deliver incremental value and adapt quickly to evolving customer needs
  • Provide expert-level technical guidance in data science, machine learning, or AI
  • Drive change in customer experience by championing data-informed strategies and solutions

What you'll bring

  • Demonstrated experience in a Machine Learning or Data Scientist role with a track record of delivering executive-level reports in the Customer Domain
  • Experience with Tableau, AWS and Teradata beneficial, but other platform experience accepted
  • Proven ability to translate complex customer needs into practical, data-driven solutions
  • Skilled in designing and optimising data processes that reflect customer workflows and pain points
  • Strong capability in managing and transforming data to uncover actionable customer insights
  • Effective communicator, bridging technical and non-technical teams to align solutions with customer goals
