Browns Plains State High School are seeking motivated applicants to join our dedicated team, where community and connection are at the heart of everything we do.
As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students who may be experiencing social, emotional, academic, or behavioural challenges.
You will work closely with students, families, school staff, and external agencies to provide guidance and intervention that fosters engagement, wellbeing, and success.
Your role will be essential in ensuring every student receives the support they need to stay connected to their education and future pathways.
We are open to either a Full-time or Part-time arrangement, with the FTE to be negotiated with the successful applicant..
This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of both classification ranges.

About the Role:
- Undertake individual and group counselling with students, parents and families to assist them in resolving personal or relationship concerns.
- Provide professional social welfare assessments, interventions and follow up support to students, parents/carers and individuals as required.
- Identify needs and participate in the referral and planning of services for children, parents and families to community agencies such as health and welfare.
- Develop and implement strategies to provide information, support and encourage awareness of, and participation by, parents/carers and the community in school activities and programs.
- Act as the contact for parents/carers and the community to determine relevant issues for improved relationships between the school and community.
