Technical & Licensing Requirements

  1. Plumbing Trade Qualification:

○ Certificate III in Plumbing (Australia).

○ Completed apprenticeship in maintenance plumbing.

  1. Plumbing Licence:

○ Current QBCC (Queensland Building and Construction Commission) licence or equivalent state licence.

○ Gas-fitting licence is a big bonus but not essential.

  1. Driver's Licence:

○ Full manual driver's licence (required for running a van and doing on-site jobs).

  1. Tools & Technology:

○ Own basic hand tools (specialty tools are usually supplied).

○ Comfortable using ServiceM8 or similar job management apps (e.g., Fergus, simPRO).

Experience

● 3–5 years in maintenance plumbing (residential and/or commercial).

● Experience diagnosing, quoting, and completing jobs independently.

● Track record of customer-facing work (can handle clients without supervision).

● Proven ability to work with minimal call-backs due to high-quality workmanship.

● Customer Service: Can build trust and rapport with homeowners and commercial clients.

Bonus Qualifications (Nice to Have)

● Gas-fitting licence (adds value to complex jobs).

● Backflow prevention and TMV testing certification.

● Experience with high-volume maintenance operations (e.g., real estate or commercial accounts).

● Leadership or mentoring experience (if they could grow into a Leading Hand role).
