About Us

CLCN (Communication Language & Culture Network) is an Australian registered not-for-profit organisation with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). We have been operating for almost seven years, and everyone involved in CLCN is a volunteer spanning various teams.

Our main objective is to help international students and skilled migrants in South Australia by enhancing their employability through soft skills training, networking events, and industry placements with real-life, meaningful projects. You can find out more about us and our mission on our website:

Position Summary

We are seeking enthusiastic and committed volunteers to join our Ambassador Team as Ambassadors. In this role, you will represent CLCN at our events and external events hosted by our sponsors. You will also assist in recapping key moments from these events, helping to highlight their impact and engagement within the community.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend CLCN events and external events hosted by partner organisations, actively engaging with attendees and promoting CLCN.
  • Encourage audience growth by connecting with students, fostering relationships, and promoting CLCN's mission and vision.
  • Recap event experiences by sharing highlights and insights to support content creation and storytelling.
  • Champion CLCN initiatives by being a role model and buddy to our volunteers, strengthening team culture and engagement.
  • Under the direction of the Team Leader, collaborate with the Central Marketing and Activity teams to align ambassador efforts with broader promotional strategies.

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse groups of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work, and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information responsibly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently within a hybrid environment.
  • Experience with remote work tools and working with virtual teams.

Desirable

  • Comfortable using social media to promote events and connect with students.
  • Experience with social media engagement or content creation.
  • Ability to identify and share key event highlights for content creators.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • Experience in student engagement, ambassador roles, or similar positions is beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build connections and encourage student involvement.
