Job Title: Wind Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Wind Technician to join our team. The role of the Wind Technician encompasses the installation, mechanical and electrical completions, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbines at a wind farm site. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. The Wind Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functionality of wind turbines and compliance with industry standards throughout their lifecycle. The Wind Technician will work closely with crane operators, riggers, and other team members to ensure the safe and efficient installation of wind turbines.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Knowledge of electrical systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work at heights

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble wind turbine components according to manufacturer guidelines and project specifications.
  • Erect tower sections, install nacelles, attach rotor blades, and connect electrical and control systems.
  • Follow safety protocols and industry best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with crane operators and riggers to safely lift and position heavy turbine components.
  • Conduct quality checks and inspections to verify proper assembly, alignment, and installation of turbine components.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required (entry-level position)
  • White Card
  • GWO training preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Vestas training preferred
