Senior StandBy Worker | StandBy Support After Suicide | Townsville
- Employment Term: Permanent Part-Time (68.4 hours per fortnight)
- Location: Townsville and will involve travel from time to time.

Your part in our UnitingCare team
StandBy – Support After Suicide provides support to anyone bereaved or impacted by a death by suicide, including individuals, families, witnesses, first responders, workplaces and community groups. StandBy offers free face-to-face and/or telephone support, and fully funded education and training to build community awareness and resilience.
You will be a key contributor to our leadership group and be passionate about community engagement and embedding a culture of collaboration and service excellence. The Senior StandBy Response Worker is a highly dynamic and challenging role where duties will vary from one day to the next.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Service Leader in the development, implementation and ongoing direction of the StandBy service.
- Providing trauma informed, non-clinical support to a client face-to-face or over the phone
- Setting up and delivering a workshop for community members or service professionals
- Debriefing a team member
- Attending a network meeting to promote our service.
- Helping to coordinate a team of casual workers across the PHN to deliver face-to-face or telephone support sessions.
As this rewarding role is in a specialist area, you will be provided with guidance and training, mentoring, external supervision and professional development opportunities.
