About us

Legal Aid NSW helps people with their legal problems. We can help people with most areas criminal law, family law and every day civil law legal issues. We give legal advice, help at court and do family dispute resolution. We can do this over the telephone or at one of our 28 offices.

About the role

The Principal Procurement Manager leads and directs the provision of procurement services, including procurement planning, development, sourcing, contract and risk management activities, to achieve value for money and to meet business needs and government directions on procurement.

About you

You are a seasoned Procurement professional with proven experience/knowledge within NSW government who can leverage their network of government procurement specialists. Reporting to the Principal Manager Finance, you have the demonstrated experience with interpretating and determining legislative impacts preferably within the ICT Procurement space.

Throughout your career, you have become no stranger to collaborating and building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative strategies, high level negotiations and manage contracts to deliver value for money outcomes.

Coupled with developing and implementing procurement plans to meet business requirements, you have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Additionally, you possess proficiency in C-suite communications.

You possess strong leadership skills, experience in management of delegations and processes and demonstrated capability to operate with a high-level of autonomy and provide expert advice and support to all key stakeholders.

The essential requirements for this role

You must:

  • minimum of five (5) years procurement experience

  • excellent knowledge of procurement within NSW government

  • be willing to do a Criminal Record Check

  • hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies)

Key knowledge and experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong C-suite communications

  • ICT Procurement experience

  • As an unaccredited agency, access to a network of government procurement specialists
