About The Role
This is a Permanent Full Time or Part Time position at up to 80 hours per fortnight within the Mental Health Department, Banksia Ward.
You will be responsible for handling intake (triage) and completing assessments before admission for consumers referred and accepted during clinical hours (9am-5pm, Mon-Fri). You would manage in-hours admissions in coordination with the Banksia Ward Consultant Psychiatrist, NUM/ANUMs, and the interdisciplinary team. Additionally, you would work closely with Consultation Liaison Psychiatry and the Emergency Department to ensure timely access to the ward, improving communication and support between the RCH Emergency Department and Banksia Ward.
Classification for this position will range from Social Worker Grade 2, Years 1-4 (SC21 – SC24), Psychology Grade 2, Years 1-4 (PK1 – PK4), Occupational Therapy Grade 2, Years 1-4 (VF6 – VF9) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 3, Year 1 to Year 4 (NP81 – NP74).

Banksia is an acute psychatric ward that provides wellbeing and mental health supports for young people aged 13/18 years, experiencing serious mental health and wellbeing concerns. The RCH provides a range of hospital inpatient, specialist, consultants and community mental health services for infants, children and young people. We commit to partnerting with young people and their families every day, to deliever high quality care and are actively seeking to improve, monitor and evaluate to create and environment for growth, research and innovation.
