Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated Grade 2 Occupational Therapists with an interest in working with Stroke Survivors in our Early Stroke Discharge program.

About Northern Health:

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital.

In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About the Role:

The OT department at Northern Health prides itself on being inclusive, supportive and is committed to evidence-based practice.

We are a team of OT's who are driven by positive patient outcomes and team work.

We employ over 100 staff just within the OT department and enjoy seeing our team take on opportunities to support their growth and development.

We are seeking an experienced Grade 2 Occupational Therapist to join our team at Northern Health, working within the multidisciplinary Early Stroke Discharge Program (ESD) for clients with short term rehabilitation goals.

This program is a fast-paced community-based service that supports clients with early access to stroke rehabilitation when they are discharged home from hospital.

The clients receive therapy within their home environment, or closest Northern Health site.

The successful Occupational Therapist will possess knowledge and skill in the area of stroke rehabilitation.

They will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide value driven occupational therapy practice through clinical skills in assessment, goal setting, rehabilitation intervention and discharge planning.

The role will also work closely with the acute stroke team and community rehabilitation teams.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Experience in providing rehabilitation to stroke survivors and an understanding of the National Stroke Guidelines.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and excel within a multidisciplinary team.
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• A commitment toward life-long learning.
• Australian Driver's Licence.
