About You
You are an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong background working in a Defence environment. You have a solid understanding of RF, HF or communications disciplines, and you've worked across in-service support, interface definition, subsystem design, installation supervision and commissioning.
As a strong communicator, you're comfortable engaging with stakeholders across all levels of the business. Your familiarity with the Defence Capability Life Cycle will bring valuable insight to complex project phases and decision-making processes.
About The Role
As a Systems Engineer you will contribute to the design, delivery, acceptance, and sustainment of the Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communications System, as well as other related projects across Australia and New Zealand. Working as part of an integrated product team, you'll engage in complex systems engineering activities that span software and hardware design, system analysis, acceptance testing, and certification.
Your responsibilities will include producing and maintaining high-quality technical documentation and drawings within a formal engineering documentation management system. You'll be actively involved in the requirements definition phase of new systems development, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete. Integration and testing of hardware, software, and communications systems will take place both in dedicated facilities and at operational sites, where your expertise will be essential.
Some intrastate/interstate/overseas travel will be required.
To be successful you will bring:
- Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Commonwealth Security Clearance
- Hold an accredited (under the Washington Accord) bachelor's degree in engineering
- Prior experience working within a Defence environment
- Demonstrated systems engineering experience ideally in the RF, HF and / or communications relevant discipline
- Strong computer skills
