About the Role

The Sport Partnerships Manager will play a key role supporting engagement with key Games stakeholders, ensuring the Brisbane 2032 Sport Programme is planned and delivered in a collaborative manner, engaging global audiences and igniting national support.

Reporting to the Director of Sport, the Sport Partnerships Manager is responsible for coordinating all stakeholder engagement and communications for the Sport and Athlete Division. This involves collaborating with key internal functional areas (e.g., Communications, Venues) and external sport and athlete stakeholders. Key duties include designing regular communications, coordinating engagement activities (visits/meetings), maintaining registers, tracking actions, and developing supporting content. The role requires a strategic approach, strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work across multiple groups simultaneously, always prioritising the athlete experience. Given the Games planning lifecycle, agility and adaptability are critical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategy for the Sport and Athlete Division, to guide engagement with a variety of stakeholders including the International Olympic Committee (IOC), International Paralympic Committee (IPC), IFs, NFs, NOCs, NPCs, athletes and delivery partners.

  • Develop Sport and Athlete Division content, including presentations, reports, correspondence, newsletters, briefing notes, website, digital and social media content, to support engagement with key stakeholders.

  • Lead the design and delivery of visit programmes for key stakeholders, including IFs, working with key functional areas and delivery partners to develop itineraries, coordinate logistics and supporting communications.

  • Support the planning and delivery of the Athlete and Sport Advisory Group, developing a forward schedule of meetings and topics, working across the organisation to ensure the Advisory Group are informed and engaged in relevant Games planning activities.

  • Work with key functional areas, including Media, Communications, Brand and Digital, to develop proactive and reactive content for priority projects and topics as required.

  • Establish and maintain engagement registers, tracking priority topics and following-up actions with team members and relevant functional areas.

Skills and Experience

  • Degree in sport/business management or related discipline (not essential)

  • Experience working within a sporting organisation (IF or NF) or in an event management environment delivering international standard events (e.g. Local Organising Committee)

  • 10+ years' experience in sports administration and/or event management

  • Experience working across complex stakeholder ecosystems, navigating competing demands and evolving priorities while ensuing programme delivery

  • Strong relationship building, excellent communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to co-creation and managing change effectively.

  • A team player who understands the importance of collaboration, communication and shared achievement

  • Highly competent in Microsoft suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
