Project Overview:

After more than 35 years operating as a successful uranium mine, the Ranger Project is entering its rehabilitation stage. Bechtel will be working alongside ERA and major stakeholder Rio Tinto to restore the land to the status of its surrounding World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. A collaborative project, this project will be developed in consultation with the Mirarr Traditional Owners and will benefit the Jabiru community.

Located 8 km east of Jabiru and 260 km south-east of Darwin, the Ranger Project will lead the way in the fast-growing area of mining closures.

Job Summary:

As the Ranger mine transitions from active mining to closure and rehabilitation, ERA is committed to achieving sustainable, world-class rehabilitation standards. This role will contribute to developing and refining stockpile management methodologies for effective closure planning, aligning with regulatory requirements and environmental stewardship goals.

The bulk material movement workstream lead will drive the development and implementation of an innovative stockpile modelling methodology in collaboration with specialist consultants and Site based mine planners, leveraging technical skills in multiple software environments. This role is critical to improving stockpile modelling and refining material movement strategies to optimize delivery of our closure objectives.

Major Responsibilities:

• Assists with coordinating all engineering activities for the defined area of responsibility for the full project life cycle. Supports compliance with standardised processes, systems & tools.
• Coordinates the engagement and management of specialist technical contractors / consultants to clarify and optimize bulk material movement work package deliverables.
• Provides engineering and technical support to project construction teams as required.
• Works closely with project planning and scheduling to develop and maintain project schedule.
• Assists in producing technical reports and project reviews complete with recommendations.
• Coordinates project finances to meet project requirements including assisting with the development of operating and capital budgets.
• Leads constructability reviews

Education and Experience Requirements:

College/University Education

Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Geospatial Science, or a related field.

A solid foundation in mining operations, geostatistics, and geospatial modeling is crucial for performing advanced stockpile modeling, analyzing material movement scenarios, and supporting regulatory compliance.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Geology, Geospatial Science or a related field
• Project management experience to drive progress in the bulk material movement workstream to underpin a complex, integrated schedule of work and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to develop strong professional relationships with those stakeholders
• Ability to influence peers, leaders and other stakeholders to ensure bulk material movement is optimized within competing priorities and the evolving knowledge of the technical challenges to be solved.
• Proficiency in block modelling and geospatial analysis to develop and validate high-resolution stockpile models. Strong experience using Maptek's Vulcan package.
• Experience using scripting / programming for automating workflows, analysing large datasets and optimizing material movement strategies.
• Experience with ArcGIS for spatial data visualization, analysis, and integration into broader modelling workflows.
• Ability to work autonomously and continuously improve solutions to achieve team objectives.
• Current driver's license
