Position Overview

Encompass Mining is on the lookout for a driven and analytical Principal or Senior Mining Engineer to become an integral part of our consultancy team. This is a full-time opportunity based in our Brisbane CBD office.

As we grow, we're seeking full-time employees eager to take on a variety of roles and build their expertise across multiple mining operations as well as exposure to multiple commodities.

Our team is truly exceptional, made up of professionals ranging from Mining Engineers with 8 years of experience to those with over 30 years of experience. What you'll be doing (based on your skill set and role assignment at client sites) may include:

  • Mine Design including pits, dumps, and site layouts
  • Mine Scheduling– short, medium and long term
  • Contributing to feasibility studies, resource/reserve estimations, and due diligence
  • Analysing model outputs to generate insights and presenting findings clearly to clients

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 6+ years of practical onsite experience
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Practical experience in open cut operations (planning, design, or production)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with mine planning software (e.g., Spry, Vulcan, Deswik) or programming (e.g., Python) is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small, dynamic team
  • A proactive "can-do" attitude
