Maintenance Technician

Your Future Role
Take on a new challenge and apply your maintenance expertise in a cutting-edge field. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll collaborate with a passionate, supportive team that values energy and innovation. You'll be responsible for leading a team of technicians to deliver planned and corrective maintenance activities across the Sydney Light Rail fleet. Day-to-day, you'll work with a close-knit team, efficiently utilizing resources to achieve contractual targets set by the Depot Manager, Operations Manager, and Project Manager, among others. This role will be on a rotating roster, which includes morning shifts (6 am-2 pm), afternoon shifts (2 pm-10 pm), and night shifts (10 pm-6 am) across weekdays and weekends.

We'll look to you for:

Ensuring that Occupational Health and Safety and quality procedures are developed, maintained, and adhered to at all times

Overseeing in-depth fault finding, servicing, and repair of the LRVs (Light Rail Vehicles)

Coaching and mentoring your team so they have the tools, confidence, and skills to succeed

Leading process improvements and new ways of working within the depot

Inspiring efficiency and teamwork to boost fleet performance and availability

Electrical License

Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to lead and empower a high-performing team

Previous experience in maintenance of rolling stock is preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels

Good computer skills, particularly in MS Office and SAP/GSI

Commercially minded and customer-focused
