Maintenance Technician

Your Future Role
Take on a new challenge and apply your maintenance expertise in a cutting-edge field. You'll report to the Operations Manager and work alongside motivated and energetic teammates. You'll be responsible for leading a team of technicians to deliver planned and corrective maintenance activities across the Sydney Light Rail fleet. Day-to-day, you'll work with a close-knit team, efficiently utilizing resources to achieve contractual targets set by the Depot Manager, Operations Manager, and Project Manager, among others. This role will be on a rotating roster, which includes morning shifts (6 am-2 pm), afternoon shifts (2 pm-10 pm), and night shifts (10 pm-6 am) across weekdays and weekends.

We'll look to you for:

Ensuring that Occupational Health and Safety and quality procedures are developed, maintained, and adhered to at all times

Overseeing in-depth fault finding, servicing, and repair of the LRVs (Light Rail Vehicles)

Training and mentoring your team to ensure they have the right tools, equipment, and competency required to perform the work

Leading process improvements and new ways of working within the depot

Driving efficiency within the team to improve availability and fleet performance

Electrical License

Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a high-performing team

Previous experience in maintenance of rolling stock is preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels

Good computer skills, particularly in MS Office and SAP/GSI

Commercially minded and customer-focused
