Hands-On Custom Build Project Supervisor for Award Winning Builder

Full-time | Port Stephens/Newcastle Region

Nel Constructions is a growing residential building company delivering high-quality new homes, renovations, and architectural projects across the Port Stephens and Newcastle region. We are seeking an experienced Custom Build Project Supervisor with a carpentry trade background who is capable of managing all aspects of construction from the ground up. This role is for someone who leads by example, works alongside the team on-site, and confidently runs projects from start to finish.


About the Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of residential job sites, ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard, on time, and in line with our construction schedule. This is a hands-on supervisory role you'll be actively involved in the build while managing the team and workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

· Supervising and coordinating carpenters, apprentices, subcontractors & all other relevant trades and suppliers throughout the build

· Working on-site to maintain quality and momentum

· Managing the build schedule and ensuring project timelines are met

· Reading and interpreting plans with accuracy

· Upholding high workmanship standards across all construction elements and overseeing other trades workmanship

· Maintaining site WHS compliance

· Liaising with subcontractors, clients, suppliers, and the project team

· Undertaking computer work to complete scheduling, reporting, and communication


About You

You are a qualified carpenter with strong leadership skills and proven experience on-site. You take pride in your craft, thrive in a team environment, and can balance hands-on work with supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Requirements:

· Carpentry trade qualification

· Supervisory or leading-hand experience on residential builds

· Excellent communication and team leadership abilities

· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

· Ability to work to schedule and maintain momentum on-site

· Reasonable computer skills (email, scheduling software, basic reporting)

· Current driver's licence, tools, and White Card
