About the role

Ascot Vale Health Group is seeking a passionate, dedicated and experienced Practice Nurse to join our friendly General practice in Ascot Vale, Victoria. This is a permanent part-time role, offering the flexibility to balance your work and personal commitments. As a Practice Nurse, you will be an integral part of our healthcare team, providing high-quality nursing care to our patients and supporting the overall operations of the practice.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting doctors with Comprehensive Medical Assessments in selected nursing homes (offsite, car is essential)
  • Providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, including performing Health Assessments, administering Vaccinations, Stock management, Infection Control, Wound Care management and assisting with minor Surgical procedures
  • Collaborating with the general practitioners to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Conducting health promotion and education activities to help patients manage their health conditions
  • Maintaining accurate, detailed and up-to-date patient records and documentation for your work performed
  • Ensuring the practice adheres to infection control and workplace health and safety standards
  • Assisting with the coordination and scheduling of patient appointments, recalls and reminders
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to the continuous improvement of our practice

What we're looking for

  • A current Registered Nurse (Division 1) qualification and valid AHPRA registration & Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Practice Nurse or in a similar primary healthcare setting
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to work autonomously, as well as collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds
  • A commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centred care and a genuine interest in supporting the health and wellbeing of our community
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in general practice nursing
